Emirates reveals busiest travel days for Eid Al Fitr 2025 holiday rush
Dubai’s Terminal 3 to see over 80,000 daily travellers this Eid

DUBAI: Emirates is preparing for a surge in travel as thousands of passengers pass through Dubai International Airport (DXB) ahead of, during, and after the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
The airline has identified peak departure dates at Terminal 3, urging passengers to plan accordingly to avoid delays.
The busiest periods for departures will be on 28th and 29th March, and again on 5th and 6th April, when more than 80,000 daily travellers are expected. With high passenger volumes, Emirates is advising customers to arrive at least three hours before their flight to ensure smooth check-in and security clearance.
Check-in and boarding timelines
To streamline the experience, Emirates is offering multiple check-in options. Passengers can check in online, via the Emirates app, or through self-service kiosks at the airport. The airline also provides an advance baggage drop-off service, allowing travellers to check in their luggage up to 24 hours before departure – or 12 hours before for US-bound flights – free of charge.
Boarding gates will close strictly 20 minutes before departure, with passengers required to clear security and passport control at least 90 minutes prior. Travellers flying in Premium Economy or Economy Class should reach their gate no later than 60 minutes before departure, while First and Business Class passengers have a 45-minute deadline.
Avoiding travel delays
Emirates has warned of possible congestion around Terminal 3 entrances, advising passengers to allow extra travel time to the airport. Those departing from Dubai can also opt for home check-in services or use the Smart Tunnel for a quicker immigration process.
With the airline maintaining strict check-in and boarding cut-off times, passengers are urged to stay updated on their flight schedules and allow ample time for airport procedures to ensure a seamless journey.
